This is my handsome English cowboy nephew Maxwell. When he landed in Texas in August we immediately took him to get a cowboy hat. He didn’t take it off for the whole stay. There was a special energy between him and my camera, every moment was a good one to capture a memory.
The Turner family has a very special place in my client list, my dear friend Maria was my very first official client, the first one to trust me and my work. This is from last Spring session, I came up with the idea of playing hide and seek and the kids loved it and took it very seriously!
Taking this photo was an hilarious moment! My parents were visiting from Italy and my friend Roberta, a fashion Designer from L.A. was in town for a trunk show and to shoot her look book. We are all from different places, Italy, Brazil, UK, California, I thought it would be a great Vogue shot! So I placed the tripod and asked everybody to give me a pose.
I met my friend Danielle on Instagram, she is a young and successful photographer and her work is very well recognized in the social media world. When I took this shot we were coming back from a family photoshoot, we stopped on the side of the road and started taking photos of each other. She told me that this image really shows her personality.
This is a photo I took of my mom and dad when they were visiting last Spring. I took them for a walk around the Historic country roads of McKinney while I was taking photos of them, I wanted them to experience an actual photography session, as they only had professional photos taken at their wedding 37 years ago. I asked them to kiss and they couldn’t stop laughing. My dad is Sicilian, he doesn’t kiss in front of people.
When I took this photo of my children I immediately thought this is exactly who they are, I really nailed their personality in this one! I love the depth that the two walls create and the fact that Lucy is goofing around. The warm light at sunset was complementing the composition and I love that Johnny is looking west, towards home.
I invited myself inside the Dupuy family because I really wanted to take a portrait of them. I met Nicole only a week before and there is a whole blog post about her and this photo on my blog. Their backyard was the perfect stage, to me this photo says Texas and those kids are to die for. Clayton in the front is a very strong character, Cooper sitting down is the “easy going one” and Cole, on the bench, is the eldest and I felt he’s the one who’s not always necessarily in the spot light, but carries responsibilities. I was looking for a simple and clean composition, Tucker the puppy was the little cherry on the cake.
Hard to believe this is not actually Paris, France but McKinney Texas. This was taken during a quiet moment of a fashion shoot I was doing for a local blogger (The Art Of Leaving Beautifully). My client suggested we take some photos at Emporium Pies, which I knew would be a good choice (not just because of their delicious pies) but because the historic building has these enormous windows which would give us a wonderful natural light. She didn’t know I was taking this picture of her and maybe for that reason it turned out to be one of my favorites.
My children played naked in the backyard and garden all summer. In this photo my little Johnny is exploring the tomato plants and taking all the support sticks out, he knows he shouldn’t do that, that’s why I love that look so much. I do like to tell stories with my photos and this is one of a series called “a day in the Texas Summer”. Rarely do my children look at the camera but that’s what makes it so special and real to me.
I’m preparing for an event I am hosting called “Pampering and Portrait” where my client will enjoy a relaxing spa session followed by hair, make up and a photo portrait with the option of commissioning a painting. This is my neighbor and dear friend, Heather, who offered to pose for my marketing photos. Natural light is coming in from my big windows in my living room. I love the way she’s looking. She was not nervous at all.
Seray is a 16 year old aspiring model, she is working on her portfolio. When her mom told me she needed to take some photos, I offered to help without knowing I was about to capture some great and simple country looks at the Luscombe Farm in Anna TX. The sun was going down really quick and I was overwhelmed with inspiration so the whole photo shoot was a race against the clock.. on a classic pick up truck!
